Routine patrol: Policemen unhurt as IED explodes

A search operation was launched in the area after the incident and suspects were arrested.

PESHAWAR: Police personnel escaped unhurt as an improvised explosive device went off on Masho Khel Road within the jurisdiction of Badhaber police station on Sunday afternoon. The policemen from the Garhi Mali Khel check post were on a routine patrol along Masho Khel Road when the incident took place. The bomb exploded a few metres away from the vehicle so the policemen managed to escape without any injuries. A police official said at least five kilogrammes of explosives had been used in the attack. A search operation was launched in the area after the incident and suspects were arrested. They were taken to a police station for further interrogation.
