Hotels body: Anwar Qureshi elected chairman

Muhammad Azeem Qureshi, General Manager of Pearl Continental Hotel, has been elected as vice chairman.

The executive committee of the Pakistan Hotels Association, in an annual general meeting held this month, elected Mohammad Anwar Qureshi, CEO of Ramada Plaza Hotel, as chairman and Muhammad Azeem Qureshi, General Manager of Pearl Continental Hotel, as vice chairman.


The chairman, with an experience of over 15 years in hotel management, is also the CEO of THE United International Group, which owns Ramada Plaza Hotel.


The vice chairman has more than 20 years of domestic and international experience in the hospitality industry. Earlier, he had been working as GM sales south for Hashoo Group of Hotels.


Speaking on the occasion, the newly-elected officials said they were looking forward to achieving sustainable growth in the hospitality industry with emphasis on new strategies and initiatives to solidify the position of hotels in the country.
