Naylor hired as Pakistan trainer

Moin Khan retained as manager for Sri Lanka series.

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Dale J. Naylor as trainer for the national team for an initial period of four months.

Naylor, a renowned physiotherapist, trainer and bio-mechanist, was also associated with the team for three years from June 1998 to May 2001.

He also worked with Indian Premier League team Sahara Pune Warriors and Surrey County.

According to a PCB media release, Naylor will start his stint with the home series against Sri Lanka in the UAE and end his run in the ICC World Twenty20 next year.

Meanwhile, the cricket board also retained former captain Moin Khan as manager of the team for the UAE series, ending speculations on his exit after the South Africa series.

The series is set to be the last one for head coach Dav Whatmore, whose contract with the PCB will expire on February 28.

The team management also includes bowling coach Mohammad Akram and fielding coach Julien Fountain while Shahid Aslam also returned as assistant manager after missing the South Africa tour.

The other officials in the team management include Maj (R) Azhar Arif (security manager for T20s & ODIs), Col (R) Waseem A Shahid (security manager for Test matches) and Muhammad Talha Butt (team analyst).

Pakistan will host two Twenty20s, five ODIs and three Tests from December 11 to January 16, they will play Afghanistan in a one-off T20 match on December 8.
