Gunmen kill four policemen in Hyderabad

Four were shot dead in Latifabad, while two were injured in an attack in Sakhi Pir, one of whom died of his wounds.

KARACHI: Gunmen on motorcycles shot and killed at least five policemen and wounded another in Hyderabad on Tuesday, police said.

The four policemen, on a routine patrol, were shot dead by armed attackers on motorcycles in the Latifabad neighbourhood of Hyderabad, senior police official Irfan Buhadar told AFP.

The second shooting took place in the Sakhi Pir area of the city, where gunmen wounded two policemen and fled on motorcycles, he said. One of those injured later succumbed to his injuries.

Buhadar said it was too early to say why the policemen were targeted, adding that nobody has claimed responsibility for the shootings so far.

Sindh government has has ordered an inquiry into the attack.

These people think that they are above the law, which is absolutely wrong. People of Hyderabad would feel at ease one a Karachi like similar operation is started to get the people free from the clutches of these goonda elements.

Literally in a couple of days,they will be forgotten and will become just numbers. when there is such excessive absence of any law,than something is really wrong with that system. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
