Addressing a news conference at Watan Kor, the party’s central secretariat in Hayatabad, Sherpao said law and order was worsening day by day and has slowed economic development. “This has caused unrest among the people and they feel insecure due to the prevailing circumstances.”
By indulging in non-issues, the rulers have overlooked the problems people face which need to be addressed on a priority basis, Sherpao added.
“The provincial government had miserably failed to play a proactive role in safeguarding K-P’s interests. No steps have been taken to pressure the federal government to pay the arrears of the net hydel profit to the province, which is its due right,” said the chairperson.
Sherpao further blamed the government for not providing farmers with good quality wheat seed. “Flour shortage will hit the province in the next season if corrective steps are not taken immediately,” he added.
The leader also criticised the government blaming it for unscheduled power and gas load-shedding along with skyrocketing inflation. On the occasion, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader from Nowshera, Malik Fayazur Rehman, announced he was joining the QWP along with dozens of his supporters.
