Hunter’s game: Partridges shooting season begins Nov 24

The use of automatic weapons, including shotguns, is strictly prohibited.

Partridges shooting season 2013-14 in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) will start from November 24 and will continue till February 2, 2014. The entire province excluding the districts of Hangu, Tank, Kohistan, Bahrain and Matta sub-division in Swat district will remain open to partridge shooting. Hunting will only be permissible on Sundays and gazetted holidays under a valid shooting license, while hunting in game reserves will be permissible only under a special shooting permit issued by the K-P Chief Conservator Wildlife. The maximum bag limit must not exceed eight birds of all partridge species per gun per day and Rs500 will be charged for each bird shot in excess to bag limit besides compensation. The use of automatic weapons, including shotguns, is strictly prohibited. Other restrictions as mentioned in the K-P Wildlife (Protection, Preservation and Conservation and Management) Act 1975 will also remain enforced.
