The only notable contribution from the Pakistani batting line up was from new comer Sohaib Maqsood, who scored 53 runs off 65 balls as Pakistan collapsed to 151 all out in just 35 overs.
Earlier, South Africa scored 268 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 50 overs to set a target of 269 for Pakistan to chase in the fifth and final one day international (ODI) of five match series between Pakistan and South Africa, espncricinfo reported.
South African skipper AB de Villiers scored a century as he helped his side score more than 250 runs in the third successive ODI, scoring 25 runs off the final over. He remained unbeaten on 115 runs off 102 balls.
Besides de Villiers, Francois du Plessis made 46 off 89 balls.
Saeed Ajmal was the pick of the bowlers for Pakistan, he took three wickets for 45 runs, while Junaid Khan picked up two wickets for 57 in his spell of nine overs.
South Africa, with an unassailable 3-1 lead, rested pace spearhead Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel as well as spinner Imran Tahir.South Africa won the toss and opted to bat in the fifth and final day-night international against Pakistan in Sharjah on Monday.
They were replaced by Vernon Philander, Wayne Parnell and Robin Peterson.
Pakistan, who lost the first match here by one run, brought back Umar Amin in place of Asad Shafiq.
After this series the two teams play Twenty20 internationals in Dubai on November 13 and 15.

That's the problem... Our players are pampered too much..with the glamour and money all believe themselves to be larger than life. They need to be brought down the earth and other sports encouraged.
In my opinion this present selected team can never perform up to the mark so i will suggest to PCB to select a all fresh and new team and let them play for 4 to 5 series without any changes

I am an Indian and not a Pakistani lover, but still Pakistan is a better team than the 1-4 score line suggests against SA. What Pakistan cricket need some good fresh young talent and a captain like Dhoni to guide them. Pakistan definitely has enough talent and you need some good people to nourish them. The shameless team completed its shameful defeat and would now sneak home with trolleys full of bags avoiding the media. The natural response in any accountable system would be for the Management of Cricket Boards to accept responsibility for selecting repeatedly failing and out of form team and resign .Unfortunately accepting responsibility and quitting is a practice that our office bearers and players are not accustom to. They prefer being humiliated disgraced and removed .
This usually doesn't happen because these selectees , managers and failed players who repeatedly get selected enjoy immunity from their nepotists who posted them there and their nepotists enjoy blessings of their chief patron .The vicious wheels of corruption and nepotism keeps spinning without fear of consequences of poor decision making and team failures.
The same team with minor cosmetic changes is sent again to record another defeat and it goes on and on. If this keep going a day may come when ICC would declare the Pakistan Team not befitting to the minimum ICC set international test standard and remove it from international games.

I am an indian and I am absolutely disgusted with some of the childish comments some of my country man make in this forum. I hate pakistani politicians as much as I hate indian politicians. There is nothing I have against pakistani people in general. I wish they get rid of politics in sports and become a good team again. There is nothing more exciting than Indo-Pak encounter when both teams match in strength!

I am no fan of Pakistan. I believe the Pakistani state (atleast a part of it) is providing support to terrorists who are terrorizing India. I believe India must to anything and everything to defend itself.

Let us fire Misbah (the only consistently performing man) and bring in Boom Boom and Hafiz in his place. BB and Hafiz are great all-rounder but against B teams. We do not have a single promising cricketer on the horizon. Shoaib has been the only exception. Captain and selectors cannot go out and bat in place of the openers and top 5 players. We lack mental and physical alertness hence batting and fielding are our worst areas. Bowlers can make mistakes and lose concentration and can be hit for 4 or 6 but regain composure. Batsmen do not have that luxury to come bat again. It is not just cricket but all games that require mental and physical alertness have our worst records.
Idea of persisting with young players is there but it's not work out.
Malik, Younis are not log term answer, Maqsood and Shehzad are good players but team nerd batting support at every position so there are alot of moving parts here.
lfiqar baber seems more capable batsman then Afridi and Hafeez their prime has passed long ago.

@Singh: Our players earnings are less than Indian players but are not as bad as you have mentioned. Beside each match fee which is in thousands, they get fixed monthly salaries which are between 2 to 5 lacs Rs. Per month. Other earnings for example from sponsors and commercials are in millions. The match fee of Rs. 3000 is not true but I wish they should not get more than this.

Losing game due to improper order of batsmen selection! Inconsistent batsmen on top order. Hafeez should come with Misbah at 5th or 6th spot not as an opener. Khurram Manzoor was not selected Shoaib Maqsood should open with Ahmed Shehzad. Drop Sohail Tanveer from ODI's Umar Amin and Umar akmal needs to be 3rd and 4th spot.

what can we expect when we have a neighbor like India, who is always tring to insult Pakistan and there by creating unwanted pressure in Pakistani players.
The players who deserve to stay are Irfan, Junaid , Ajmal ,Misbah, Maqsood and Shahzad. Rest of the players needs to be kicked out of cricket. So we can build a team which doesnt have the availability to play conisent.
ICC should take back the test status of Pakistan after this dismal performance.India should use its might and request ICC to ban Pakistan for 25 years from participating in International cricket.If South Africa can be banned for apartheid than Pakistan should also be banned for being an epicenter of terrorism..
