Speaking to the media outside the assembly building, Leader of the Opposition Khursheed Shah said the opposition members will not attend sessions until the government takes them into confidence over talks with Taliban.
He also stated that now that the TTP has said there will be no talks with the government, the parliamentarians should be apprised of the situation.
Shah further criticised Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for only attending a few sessions.
TTP recently ruled out the possibility of peace talks with Pakistan as Mullah Fazlullah, the leader of the Swat Taliban, was named the new chief.
Recent protests
The opposition in the Senate has been boycotting sessions for the last three days after a war of words broke out between Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and a few opposition members over figures of casualties from terrorism.
The opposition wants Nisar to take back his figures and apologise to the house.
Nisar, on the other hand, said the figures he provided were given to him by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and that they are correct.

I Think that talk aboutTaliban is not sign for gov.of pak .Gov .should use their power aginst the TTP .The roots of talibans are very vast and strong there back bone is USA .it is noteasyto root up the talibans .
These opportunists elected as opposition lawmakers are behaving like jokers. If they cannot come to parliament at this critical juncture, they should be suspended forever! They have absolutely no right to boycot on taxpayers money!
Opposition is smart. They are putting this PMLN government in a corner.
Nawaz either pulls out of the war, or he owns it and becomes known a US stooge.
Which one he decides as the US is withdrawing ?
@azmat
The majority of Pakistan is opposed to its alliance with the US
After appointment of the most hardline and ferocious commander as TTP chief no doubt is left behind about TTP seriousness about talks.This mullah is not from Mehsuds who have been TTP's heads previously and has been selected simply to give Pakistan a tough time.Now expecting any talks will be like living in a fools paradise.Government should come out clearly with its stance on this most vital issue.No more fooling of the nation and pleasing of a few. Now PMLn please behave like the Tiger, your election symbol.
Has the Opposition gone bonkers ? How on earth will the Government take the Opposition into confidence on talks with the Taliban, when it does not know who they are going to talk to or what about. The game is talking about talks, not walking the walks. The Government believes that not just the Opposition but all citizens have the brains of a Peahen and will continue to draw circles around them.
PPP and allies as Opposition are doing their best to destabilise the PML-N. But to be honest this was expected and PML-N should have realised this in last 5 years
