JAMRUD:

An improvised explosive device (IED) planted by unidentified militants outside a tribal elder’s house was defused by the bomb disposal squad (BDS) in Jamrud on Monday.

Security official Hayat Muhammad said locals called them to inform about the IED planted near Haji Ghafar’s house, who is an elder of the Kuki Khel tribe. Consequently, political administration officials along with BDS personnel rushed to the site and defused the explosive device.

In another incident, security official Nauman was injured when unidentified people opened fire at him on Sunday night. He was taken to a hospital where his condition was now said to be stable.

Meanwhile, an official of Jamrud Civil Hospital informed a speeding van collided with another vehicle injuring two passengers. The injured are said to be out of danger.
