During Eid: More than 200 rescued

Of the 186 calls, there were 103 road accidents, 58 medical emergencies, 4 fire incidents and 6 crime incidents.

Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi responded to 186 emergency calls and rescued 244 people in different incidents during Eid holidays, according to a press release issued by the emergency service.


Road accidents made up 55 per cent - 103 to be precise - of the 186 emergency calls. Fifty-eight medical emergencies, four fire incidents and six crime incidents made up the rest.

The release stated that the average response time of Rescue 1122 was around seven minutes for these emergency calls.



Over 450 rescuers had remained on special duties at the District Control Room during Eid with 14 fully equipped ambulances, 10 fire vehicles, two water bowzers and three specialised vehicles.

Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi had also established special mobile posts to provide medical cover for public gatherings. The posts were set up at Chandni Chowk, Pirwadhai Mor, Civil Lines Station, Kutchery Chowk, Kalma Chowk Station, Bahria Town G.T. Road, GPO Chowk Saddar, Rawal Chowk, Chungi No. 22, Tench Bhatta, Gawalmandi, Liaquat Bagh, Nawaz Sharif Park, Jinnah Park and Ayub Park.



Rescue 1122 Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer, appreciated the work of rescuers for providing emergency help during the Eid days in all districts of Punjab including Rawalpindi.
