The National Highways and Motorway Police on Sunday launched a three-day patrolling and education campaign on safe travel on Eidul Azha at the highways.
DIG Mirza Shakil Ahmad said the national highway patrolling officers had given special briefings and distributed road safety pamphlets to passengers.
He said patrolling mobiles had been deputed between Chuhng and Thoker at Shahpur Kanjran to ensure free flow of traffic.
The DIG said Motorway Police had taken special measures for safety and security of commuters on Eidul Azha. He said extra patrolling vehicles had been deployed to the national highways and ambulances had been provided for emergency care in case of an untoward incident.
He urged citizens to be cautious while travelling. He said people suspected of dengue fever should be reported immediately to their travel companies. He urged people to follow all traffic rules.
