Governor inaugurates rescue helpline '1299' in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan inaugurated the helpline 1299 at the Karachi Commissioner Office on Friday.

Dr Ebad said that the helpline has been setup to establish better the coordination between the different departments and organisations working on rescue and relief activities.

The centre of the helpline, which has been setup in commissioner officer, will also provide logistic support in case of disasters in the city. Initially, Rs33.15 million was spent by the governor house to set up the centre for the rescue helpline.
