“When I thought of making this film, many people close to me told me not to touch this topic as it would be too sensitive,” he said, according to the Times of India. “I understand India and Pakistan have a lot of problems which need immediate solutions. But instead of solving them, we're busy fighting over unimportant issues.”
His film titled, War Chhod Na Yaar, is supposedly India’s first war comedy and stars actors Sharman Joshi, Soha Ali Khan and Jaaved Jaaferi. “Up till now, almost all films made on Indo-Pak issues showed Pakistan in a bad light. I'm not saying it is wrong, nor am I pointing fingers at anyone,” he added. “Also, the purpose behind making this film is not to hurt Pakistan or its people.”
“We’ve shown the human side of all army men — Indian or Pakistani — without forgetting their sacrifices for their countries. But we have taken some harmless cinematic liberties in portraying different characters on both sides.”
However, what remains to be seen is if the Indian audience is open to such an idea considering the overwhelming success of movies with a negative perspective.

@true version: Sure you people do make movies, but please don't ask of what quality. (few exception apart off course)
@true version: We too are not dependent on anyone for entertainment. Unlike Indians, we are open-minded and don't mind entertainment coming from India, Iran, Turkey, China, USA, UK or any other country. We watch movies, dramas, music of all these countries. The most popular TV channels remain Pakistani channels only. If you think that if Atif Aslam, Adnan Sami or Rahat Fateh Ali Khan have perform in India because Pakistan's entertainment industry is weak, then I must tell you that Sonu Nigam, Kumar Sanu, Kailash Kher, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal have sung for Pakistani movies too and Vinod Khanna, Arbaaz Khan, Kirron Kher, Naseeruddin Shah and Johnny Lever have acted in Pakistani movies.
" highlighted Indian army’s patriotic fervor by portraying Pakistan as the real enemy. "
If you Pakistanis missed the real point, Pakistan is the real enemy. And the movies are made to portray you as evil. That is not very unusual. Is it?
@kafka - if that is a condition, no one will ever come back in one piece to make a movie.
@Curious: The last sentence should have ended “true perspective” not negative perspective.
Indeed. India - the land of historical revisionism, distortion and fallacies.
Any Indian director thinking of making a movie on Pakistan should atleast spend a week in Pakistan before embarking on putting together stereotypes.
@Curious: India thinks that they are always right. Isn't every delusional the same?
This movie has FLOP written all over it.
Any way let us wait and watch with hope
The trailers looks terrible.
The last sentence should have ended "true perspective" not negative perspective.
