LARKANA: All arrangements have been finalised for the launch of the National Immunisation Campaign against polio, which begins today (Monday).

More than 275,000 children under the age of five in Larkana district will be vaccinated during the three-day sub-national polio campaign. Executive District Officer Health Services Dr Abdul Fateh Bughio said 529 mobile teams have been formed, which will visit all areas, including flood relief camps in the district, to ensure all children can get their vaccinations against the polio virus. EDO Health said that 69 transit polio teams have also been constituted and they will be present at the railway station, bus stops and markets across the district for the next three days. Dr Bughio urged parents to cooperate with the visiting mobile polio teams and help to make the national anti-polio campaign a success. He also appealed to religious scholars, elected representatives, NGOs and local community members to help create awareness about the drive.
