Talking to media persons at Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) on Wednesday during his visit to inquire about the health of people injured in the twin suicide blasts, he further said that the government should also open an office for peace talks with the Taliban.
“At the All Parties Conference all the political parties decided to talk to the Taliban,” Imran Khan reiterated.
“People voted for PTI because they want peace,” he said.
Commenting on the complexity of the situation, the PTI Chairman said nine years ago there was only one group of Taliban but now there are around 35 such groups. He argued that if the US could open offices for the Afghan Taliban in Qatar, why should Pakistan not do the same.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Pervez Khatak, Speaker of the provincial assembly Asad Qaisar and others minister and workers of PTI were also present on the occasion.
PTI has come under a lot criticism since the Peshawar church bombing. Protests were taken out by the Christian community and their supporters against the PTI-lead K-P government's handling of the attack. The PTI Chairman was also criticized for his media talk in which he cited the possibility of a conspiracy against peace talks being the reason for the attack.
Responding to Imran's call for Taliban political offices, acting chief of the Awami National Party (ANP) Haji Adeel told Express News he was against the idea, although he did support peace talks.

He made this daring statement in Lady Reading Hospital of all places, where victims of the church blasts are recovering. His message to me seems more like "Yes, we really don't give a damn about minorities".
Voting for PTI is a decision I truly regret. His blind sheep followers will keep their heads bury in the sand and nod enthusiastically to every idiotic gibberish that comes out of their Dear Leader's mouth.

S.Waziristan,where TTP is based is a foreign country,so it makes sense to open a local office.There will be better and speedier communications between the local office and Waziristan.Whenever there is a a bomb blast or attack the local office can immediately claim credit for their good work.The delay in claiming responsibility gives rise to all sorts of conspiracy theories

Soon enough IK will ask people to apply for position at this office. Not sure if IK can handle public policies.
Their corporate office exists in Islamabad.Whereas their branch offices are present every where in Pakistan.Now that it has turned into a global conglomerate with branches in Somalia,Syria,Egypt and in Philippines.In coming decade they will expand to new territories of Europe and Americas.

The question is not that office can not be opened,the problem is IK is suggesting Government to do things that TTP has not even asked for.It is deliberate attempt to have the TTP get an upper hand in the negotiations.Government already has gone out of its way in accomodating the terrorists.IK is doing the nation a great wrong by his actions.

I suggest imran khan to open taliban office in lahore so that those who are fighting against goverment will be given free treatment at shoukat khanam hospital and they also enjoy metro bus service to move here and there with there clan ,in another cities small buses are not enough for them

What has happened to the PTI Office?
So terrorists are a major threat to the country. The suicide bombing escalate across the country soon after the army does its operation into South Waziristan. Musharaf went for the go in guns blazing policy. Kill the barbarians. Was he successful? Nope, should we continue an all out assault? Yes, 5 more years should do the trick.
Zardari came in, told the Americans to increase the use of drone strikes. He did not care about the collateral damage. Five more years of constant fighting. To arms brethren.
So after all those years of "we do not negotiate with terrorists". We still did not achieve our goal. So now lets blame Imran Khan and his 100 days of govt. He is clearly the only reason we can not eradicate the terrorists. Its just like how America constantly complains about 3000 Afghani Taliban hiding in North Waziristan. and declares them as the reason the violence is not ending there.
When there is war, there is chaos,anarchy,collateral damage, and "rational"/"logic" thinking ends. What most of these people here demanding an all out attack on them do not stop to think, this is not a target that is clearly visible. You basically want an increase in Drone strikes? That will increase the number of collateral casualties, which leads to more recruits for Taliban. You have to take away their Jihad narrative.
Unless you know exactly where the enemy is, and have the capability to take him down. Proceed with caution. But keyboard warriors do not know that. We have fought an American war, because after 9-11. Our Pakistani Army had probably no choice but to join up. Because America was angry, and PPP and PML-N had left Pakistan in a vulnerable state. We joined up, but we played a double-role. We hid Osama Bin Laden. Why oh Why did we do that? Because we have interests in Afghanistan. A messy war, the people know nothing about it. But please do go on about how you want to end a foe that clearly can't be killed.
A history lesson. Afghanistan has always been a war-zone. No one can survive there. Build a huge wall between Pakistan and Afghanistan. And basically get as far away as this war as possible.
Like the popular frenzy leading up to Obama's election and the consequent fizzling out, Imran Khan's campaign bubble is finally unravelling. His voice against the extreme corruption in our society made many of us blind to his conservative 'religious' side. The wise were pointing it out then, now it is for all to see. What a trip it has been !

IK suggestion is an abject surrender and an endorsement of mayhem carried out by TTP in Peshawar. However, if Imran still feels that opening of an office for talks is going to solve this grave problem, he can take the lead by opening one in Peshawar and also conduct talks with them. If IK succeeds, he would be hailed as a hero by all Pakistanis. In the case of failure, Taliban would be ruling his province and IK would have to switch back to his cricketing career as a coach.
Why not Imran Khan himself open an office on behalf of these terrorists ? I am ashamed of this great cricketer whom I loved once upon a time, irrespective of his cast and country. Errr, before PTI, ANP was in power. They condemned TTP/Taliban all the time. Did THAT stop the attacks? Did it stop the suicide bombings? Taliban doesn't reason. IK may set up a liaison office on Taliban's behalf at his Banigala residence.
We simply love to do everything America in our daily life. And given a chance, how many of us won't take the first flight to leave for the US? But when it comes to hypocrisy, no one beats Pakistanis. Taliban's office in Qatar is a unanimous decision taken by the international community. If you don't want to talk to the TTP, get it first approved by another APC. But if these are the people you voted just a few months ago, then trust your leaders, be it IK, Nawaz, Diesel or Asfo.
IK has been for dialogues since 2004. The votes he got mandate him to go ahead with his vision, which was also shared by the APC. PTI must go all-out in its stated policy of seeking a peaceful solution.

Excellent idea! Yes offices in all major cities in Pakistan. They might like to list their accomplishments and have them framed and put up on their office walls. The list might include attack on Pak army military establishments, killings of trained Pak Army personnel. Killings of thousands of innocent civilians. All sorts of gorilla warfare tactics which are effectively used even in the holy month of ramadan. The list of credential is long and impressive and should add to the decor of the office Imran Khan will help them set up

This guy gets in trouble because he talk about the issues and suggest practical solutions. Pakistanis don't like this - they would rather prefer someone who would simply create a 3-4 member committee to investigate every time there is an incident.
Talking peace has not been easy in such situation anywhere in the world. There will be criticism and anger rightfully by those who lost loved ones but there SOME who just like war to continue.
