Death toll mounting: Dengue claims three more lives

A total of 6,000 people have so far been diagnosed with dengue in Mingora and adjacent areas.

SWAT: Three more dengue patients died in Swat on Tuesday, taking the death toll to 24 since the outbreak of dengue fever in the district. A total of 6,000 people have so far been diagnosed with dengue in Mingora and adjacent areas. Saidu Sharif Hospital Spokesperson Dr Wasel Khan said that as many as 246 patients were under treatment at the hospital. He said that 30-year Kadim Khan and a 12-year old child had been admitted to the hospital in critical conditions after they had contracted the fever. He said that 56-year-old Sher Bacha of Mingora also died due to dengue fever. The spokesman said that as many as 3,181 patients have been admitted to the hospital from August 14 to September 24, of them 2,782 patients were successfully treated and discharged.
