Wahlberg recently wrote a column for the Huffington Post revealing that he has succeeded in becoming a high school graduate.

Though high school graduations are often a highlight in teen movies, it is surprising that there are quite a number of celebrities in tinsel town who haven’t gone down that road at all. The high school dropouts’ list includes big names like Al Pacino, Cameron Diaz, Elton John, Johnny Depp, Katy Perry and even The Fighter star Mark Wahlberg – but only up until now! It seems that the sexy 42-year-old actor has ditched his dropout label and finally obtained a high school diploma.

Wahlberg recently wrote a column for the Huffington Post revealing that he has succeeded in becoming a high school graduate. He wrote, “I never made it past the ninth grade. My circumstances were not unlike millions of other teens today, who live in tough working class neighborhoods surrounded by drugs, violence and crime, and who struggle to stay on the right path without positive influences.”

However, after years of studying over the internet, he has finally earned the coveted certificate. “I was fortunate to find out I could attend high school online. For almost a year, I’ve been taking classes and studying any chance I could get - on the set, traveling for work and at home. It has been both humbling and challenging, but I’m happy to report that I am officially a high school graduate, having received my diploma this summer,” he shared in his blog.

Way to go Mark, You have definitely set an example for other youngsters who are living in deprivation. Happy graduation!
