The Defence Housing Authority is planning to fix security issues faced by its residents, announced its administrator.
The authority is also planning to build a new graveyard and renovate a park on Sea View. These decisions were made when a delegation of the Association of Defence Residents (ADR), led by its president Attiqueur Rehman, visited DHA main office to meet the administrator, Brig. Muhammad Abdullah.
Addressing the delegation, the administrator said that DHA gave top priority to providing a safe living environment to its residents. Brig. Abdullah said that DHA has formulated a security plan to improve the overall security situation in the housing authority. The main features of the plan included increased mobile patrolling in the area, effective CCTV coverage, setting up more security check posts in DHA for effective monitoring and taking pre-emptive actions.
It was further discussed that the development work on building a new graveyard in Phase VIII of DHA would be completed by December 31.
The horticulture director said that DHA has recently undertaken renovation and uplift work of Capt. Farhan Shaheed Park on Sea View. It has also planted new trees, improved the walking tracks and fixed additional lights to provide good recreational facilities to the large number of people who visit the beach.
