Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to address nation today

Sharif will also take the nation into confidence with regards to peace talks with the Taliban.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will address the nation in the evening today and talk about steps being taken to eliminate terrorism in the country, Express News reported on Saturday.

This will be Sharif's second national address after his government took power after the May 11 elections.

He is also expected to announce different youth programmes, including laptop and easy loan schemes. A Rs15 billion youth package had been approved by the federal cabinet earlier on Friday.

The prime minister will also take the nation into confidence with regards to the peace talks with Taliban.

In his first national address, Sharif had expressed his resolve to eliminate the menace of terrorism‚ improve the economy‚ address power crisis and pursue good relations with all neighbouring countries in the region, including India.

Sharif had also promised major projects including a housing scheme for the poor, an improved road network. He had also pointed towards the trade corridor which will run the entire length of Pakistan and connect the port of Gwadar with Kashgar.
