ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad sent suspected terrorists Hammad Adil and Shaukat Zaman on a 14-day judicial remand on Thursday, Express News reported.

Adil was arrested on September 16 during a raid in the Sabzi Mandi area. The police believe Adil was plotting a car bombing in Islamabad.

It was revealed during today's hearing that Adil’s next target was Musharraf's farmhouse in Chak Shahzad.

The police had seized his car in Bhara Kahu in which they found a CNG container filled with 120 kilogrammes of explosive material.

According to reports, the CNG container had been cut open and the explosive materials were placed inside by Shaukat Zaman in an attempt to disguise them.

Zaman was also allegedly helping a man named Tanveer who is associated with al Qaeda.

Background

Adil was earlier sent on a three-day physical remand.

The police had conducted a raid at a house in the Adil Heights area of Phulgaran — a few kilometres from Bhara Kahu — on August 30 and seized a car that was rigged with explosives. The car was recovered from Adil's house.
