CHITRAL: A woman was severely injured after being attacked with acid by her husband over what appeared to be a family dispute in Drosh, Chitral on Sunday.
Drosh DSP told The Express Tribune, the victim Noor Jehan has a daughter and was at her parents’ house in Shamsabad. Noor Jehan had moved there three months ago after an argument with her husband Sultan Zeb.
He followed her to her parents’ house and on Sunday morning at 4am, the couple was quarreling over Noor Jehan’s demands to her husband to meet the household needs when Zeb poured acid on her and fled the scene. She was taken to Drosh District Hospital’s emergency ward.
According to her doctors, Noor Jehan’s face and the front of her torso were completely burnt and her condition critical. They have referred her to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar.
The police have registered a case and started a search for the accused.
Zeb is employed at a mobile phone shop in Mayar Jandool, Lower Dir.
