Investigation teams under the leadership of two SPs were sent out to look for the rapists involved.
The inspector general of Punjab Police presented a two page report to the Supreme Court earlier today.
The girl was found outside a hospital at around 8pm on Friday, said Lahore police chief Chaudhry Shafiq, a day after she went missing from a low-income neighbourhood in the city.
"We suspect that unknown men kidnapped the girl and after raping her threw her outside the hospital," Shafiq said.
CCTV footage showed a security guard from Lahore's Sir Ganga Ram hospital carrying the victim into the building on his shoulder after he found her lying on the road in a critical condition, said the police chief.
Doctors said the child was raped several times, added Shafiq, and after receiving emergency care was transferred to the intensive care unit of nearby Services hospital.
Provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah told reporters Friday that those who raped the young girl will be found and punished.
"Those who have done this are not humans but beasts and will be arrested and prosecuted under the law and given exemplary punishments," Sanaullah told reporters.

A Saudi teacher raped 19 girl students. He was able to rape 19 because 18 girls did not tell any one about their rape. Teacher has 4 wives and a few kids of his own. News can be verified on the Internet.

On another note, the commercial & cheap way in which media channles deliver news these days is getting unbearable. The way the mic is shoved in the faces of the family members, the race to be the 1st one to get hold of any information related to the victims, the way pharses are orchestrated to be in 'daramatic rythm' & 'poetic wazan' without any regard to the type of news, a serious deficiency of sobriety ..... How difficult is it to be sympathetic and give the victim some privacy / speace owing to the nature of the incident ...... PEMRA has some serious role to play here
Lastly, it really nauseates to be reminded that we have animals like this around us thinking in this way about little girls ..... an exemplary punishment should be sentenced to the beast .....
@Concerned: What if victim of these rapes were your sister or daughter, than should this crime have been covered up just to project our image. These arehuman beings, not mere statistics we are talking about. If you are talking about Islam than for such heinous crimes the punishment given is very severe and to be publicly announced to serve as a deterrence for others. To hide such crimes is criminal and immoral. A society that hides crimes is a society that will stand condemned and degenerate. We need tocomedownwith an iron hand for our own sake. So that is one good thing done by PPP when it repealed that law.Unclear how and why you think that has anything to do with West. Also you want to replicate what Qasim did? He and his soldiers raped lots of local women. Don't bring religious flavor into an issue like rape. It is a crime against humanity.
@Truth_prevails Reporting of rape went way down in Zia's time because of the Hudood laws which criminalizes the victim and which allowed the rapist to go scot free because it would be rare for a woman to be able to produce 4 good Muslim men as witnesses, in the absence of which the girl was sentenced to zina, this does not mean actual incidence of rape went down. I would suspect it went way up because during that time rapists had no fear of being punished.

This is not a case in isolation. There are many such cases in pakistan. Lets not forget the law in Pakistan criminalises women who report rape and charge them with adultry. There is not one but many issues with Pakistan and this is due to the lack of an accountable government as well as the infiltration of culture from the west which pushes freedom to act as ine pleases even if it replicates an animal. What Pakistan needs is a return to the islamic foundations that Qasim brought to this land and a leader who fears allah. A system that implemts islam holistically and a society where such crimes are properly dealt with.

In Pakistan even boys get raped. There was a news recently in ET where an 8-yr old boy was raped by a Moulvi in Madrasah in Pakistan. Police even refused to register an FIR.

Words cannot express the sorrow and grief that I feel for this young child. How can this happen and why does it happen? We as human beings must protect our children as they are our own future. Dignity is standing up to realize and admit that our society is a breeding ground for sick mindedness, we must work to get rid of it at whatever cost. And judgement must also be dealt to the media that disclosed the name of this young child, a little credit for understanding the sensitivity of this issue must be given to the tribune.

I hope these people, no these animals, are caught and punished. I feel repulsed to be part of a society where the judicial system is so flawed that the accused get away most of the time. I feel for the little girl as I have a daughter of my own. Low income group mothers cannot even be there to keep a watchful eye on their children as they have to go out and earn. Really disturbing news.
@Concerned. The defamation in this case is very well deserved. Don't forget that the western media also covered this issue extensively in our eastern neighbor. So just stop communalising the issue. Such an insensitive comment to make given that a minor has been raped and all you care about is the 'ghairat' being axed. Moreover, in a region where speedy justice is only expected if the issue gets media attention you would expect such a behavior.
