Historical importance: Defence Day celebrated at Roots

Primary school students performed skits impersonating members of the armed forces.

Students celebrated the Defence Day with enthusiasm at Roots International School Rawal Campus on Friday. The students exhibited artwork, delivered speeches and sung national songs to commemorate the efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces during the 1965 war. Students were told about the historical importance of the day by teachers, who also emphasised on the key qualities and attributes of national heroes. Primary school students performed skits impersonating members of the armed forces. The school’s headmistress, in her speech, asked students to uphold the values of bravery and honour for the protection of the country. On the occasion, Roots International Schools CEO Walid Mushtaq said the Defence Day is an insignia of the struggle of our national heroes and laymen.
