MQM's first requisition had stated that a Sindh Assembly session be called on August28. However, Speaker Sindh Assembly, Agha Siraj Durrani had pointed out that some of the signatures of MQM members on the requisition did not appear to be consistent.
MQM then resubmitted its requisition to Deputy Speaker Sindh Assembly, Shehla Raza who said that the requisition will be checked for its legality.
MQM leader Khwaja Izharul Hasan said that a session needs to be called to inform the citizens of Karachi about steps being taken to curb terrorism.
MQM senior leader Syed Sardar Ahmad said that Speaker Sindh Assembly had reservations with the earlier requisition but a session needs to be called within 14 days.
A day earlier, MQM leader Nisar Ahmed Panhwar had asked the federal government to take notice of the brutal attacks on their workers.
He had requested the federal government “to save the city’s businessmen, industrialists, shop owners and people from the brutalities of the People's Aman Committee (PAC) and for the deployment of army for the protection of human lives.”

These silly actions by PPP are just making MQM more popular day by day.
It is somewhat of a relief to see MQM turning back its focus to raising snd resolution of urban sindh issues something it appears to have forsaken in its mistaken attempt to carve a national role. However, beyond agitationsl politics it should set up serious think tanks who develop both short, intermediate nd long term plans fir revitalization of sindh's urbsn areas and recover the central role they used to occupy in Sindh's nd Pakistan's body politics uptil a couple of decades back.
