WAPDA extend lead in football league

The 22nd day of the Pakistan Premier League saw Wapda remain top of the table after defeating Baloch FC 1-0.

Captain Arif Mehmood scored a late winner in the 83rd minute, helping the seven-time national champions register their sixth win in seven visits.

Meanwhile, PIA staged a late comeback for the 2-1 victor after PAF took the lead through their striker Amir Khan just before the interval. PIA equalised through Nazeer Ahmed in the 66th minute and sealed the win in the final minutes of the match as Zeeshan Ali, 21, scored the late winner for his side.

Sahiwal’s Young Blood drew 1-1 with Sui Southern Gas Company Limited while Pakistan Army recorded a goalless draw against KESC.
