Currently, the mobile courts are hearing six civil cases and 24 criminal cases.
The first verdict was given on a civil case in Hayatabad, Peshawar. A dispute of Rs0.6 million was resolved after both the sides reached a mutual agreement.
DG Judicial Academy Hayat Ali Shah and District and Session Judge Shabbir Khan told the media that the aim of these mobile courts is to provide the people with a speedy and inexpensive justice. If this experiment is successful, more mobiles will be summoned.
Mobile courts will conduct court proceedings of civil cases before the people.
Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan had proposed the project nearly two years ago to provide quick justice for litigants who could not afford to travel to courts in other cities.
The plan was meant to resolve petty civil disputes and criminal cases at the earliest and at involved parties’ doorsteps – speedy justice at a low cost.
A project which was initially meant to be kick started in 2012 was finally inaugurated by PHC Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan in July 2013.
The travelling court is equipped with a solar energy generation system and has been prepared at a cost of Rs15 million.

The people who are saying that PTI does not deserve the credit because this project was suggested by the chief justice Peshawar in 2012, on the other hand give credit to Nawaz Sharif not only for the atomic explosions but also for the development of the atom bomb as well. How pathetic their thinking is.......

Colonial courts give verdict in years if lucky otherwise decades. Colonial courts punish the criminal if he is poor and if he is rich or with connection he gets seat in Parliament.
Like I said real world is different from utopia in text books and PR spins.
Credit should be given to whoever thought of the idea first, but the main plaudits should go to the government which brought the idea to fruition. Well done to the KPK government on this regard. More mobile courts need to be launched all over Pakistan.

Your 2 comments do not add up in REAL world. How does wishing mobile justice system to crash and its wheels fall off, helps in speeding up the process of justice and getting backlog cleared?????.
Please read my commend once again (or more times if required). I have praised the initiative because clearing backlog of cases has to start somewhere and this is a step in right direction. Waiting for a Kazi system and a Utopian Islamic state as you are suggesting is not possible in near future at least (if possible at all).So lets start providing justice with the system we have in place as a priority.

Although it is worth while idea but in the US , some judges will go to different towns or cities to call in the court in Schools or State owned buildings. Perhaps we could emulate that idea too and let some judges travel with minimum staff with modern recording machines and dispense justice in far off places in the KP owned buildings. As a matter of fact a justice official could call any place a court for the purpose of dispensing justice to the litigants.
To all the people saying the idea was proposed by the judge, I'm pretty sure you didnt fund these mobile courts by your pocket money. THE IDEA WAS PROPOSED TWO YEARS AGO AND CAME INTO REALITY DURING PTI GOVT THANKS TO THE FUNDS GIVEN BY THEM

They dispense justice according to prevalent law of Islamic Republic Of Pakistan. Justice both social and judicial is more important than where it originated from. Basic norms of justice are very similar in any type of system, generally it is the punishment that differs.
Well done PTI for acting upon a good plan and not dismissing it just because it was hatched during a previous government.
@ManofSteel!: Masajids in the distant past had served a much broader role for all kinds of community services. With proper regulations, I wonder why the same cannot be implemented now. Many Masajids in the West are serving the communities on the same lines, reaping benefits and creating harmony among the people of all colors, race, gender and even followers of the different faiths.
Now that is something impressive... I think these courts should work in such a way to clear all the cases in KPK :)

Its a UNDP project. Its was not thought by PTI and it was not funded by provincial govt. give the credit to UN and the international community.

Ideas are just useless until and unless they are implemented on ground and put into actions. No matter who proposed it, PTI implemented it and thus they should be given the credit for that.
@roadkashehzada: Suggestion and amal krna do different chezain. Pakistan main sb log sirf suggestions hi detay hain amal koi nahi krta . So please think before what you say and dont suggest us to not to give credits to PTI.

@ManofSteel: very much impressed by your idea aswell, hope someone hear you out. This way traffic can be reduced; more convienent access to courts, people will be extra careful before doing any bad to avoid embarasement in mohalla.
For a start it can be for civil cases only; for family/marriages etc. related issues - will help take off some burden from the local courts; and gradually educate our maulvis about the laws too.

@Usman Ghayas: This mobile courts idea was envisioned by the ANP government. Look at the related news item above and read the news column under it and you will get the idea om who started the project. Imran Khan and PTI has yet to prove themselves.

This is the Pakistan that is promised by IK. Oh Allah give us wisdom to make difference in right or wrong.
Impressed! ...we can have more such "courts" in every masjid of mohalla. And then that masjid can be centralized and brought into government fold too. Maybe weekly sessions can be held or of some sort.
This way we will be able to save "transportation cost" for clients/officials, and will help centralizing masjids too. Every member can file cases in his/her respective mohalla..
