Nato attacks were accidents: FM Qureshi

Nato incursions, attacks on Pakistan's soil were accidents and not part of any new strategy by Nato, says FM.

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday said that Nato incursions and attacks on Pakistan's soil were accidents and not part of any new strategy by Nato.

Qureshi said that he met with the secretary general of Nato who informed the foreign minister that the attacks were accidents. The secretary general also apologised over the incident and said that an investigation had been ordered. Qureshi added that there is no ‘hot pursuit’ arrangement with Nato and there are no ‘hot pursuit’ rules.

The foreign minister also said that he received a phone call from US special envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke on behalf of US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, who expressed her condolences and regret over the loss of life in the Nato incursions.

Commenting on the suspension of Nato supplies, Qureshi said that it was Pakistan’s responsibility to make sure that they remain secure.

You cannot critise the invaders. You must be ashamed. Read Eric Modagolis's article on the American policies in Pakistan in October 06, 2010 newspaper in which he revealed Americans designs of inflicting the socio-political turmoil in Pakistan to disintegrate the country. Mind you, there are three thousand American soldiers on the Pakistan soil besides hundred and thirty thousand in Afghanistan. What are you talking about? Take sense and stop your articulated nonsense in press release and conferences, your effeminated gesture and attitude other wise you will lose this part of the country as well. This is what the Americans have in their mindset. They haven't sent helicopters to aid the flood effectees. They are monitoring your physical geography very closely and they have warned you and your government time and again of your corruption but you are reluctant to pay any heed to the facts. You act like a pigeon which closes his eyes while sighting a cat nearby.

He is more loyal to the king than the king himself and unfortunately for Pakistan, here king is not just one- its US as well as India depending upon when which of these kings are more unde threat in Pakistan When even kids in Pakistan know the dirty game being played by these powers for their long term goals in our fields, instead of at least keeping the pressure, ditchers like him and Haqqani are always ready to bite the bullet for their marters. Ahmer Ali | 14 years ago | Reply Assalam-o-Allaikum Warahmatullah.Foreign Minister Mehmood Qureshi is speaking NATO and US language because air strikes in other country's territory are not the accidents especially when one country is considered as the center of terrorists,extremists and fundamentalists and practical are also taken to stop such these types of accidents in the future on solid grounds to maintain and prove the sovereignty.Now talk to US officials and emphasize to give surety and guarantee that there shall be no more Drone attacks in the future on the innocent and sinless tribal muslim brothers,sisters and children other wise you are equal share holders in the killings of innocent people because .Hazrat Muhammad (APBUH) said in clear words that he/she has equal part in the killings who helps the murderers and killers and you shall be asked Allah Almighty on the Judgment Day of your help of the brutal and cruel killers who are killing the innocent and sinless people on daily basis in tribal areas.

KM | 14 years ago | Reply Mr. Qureshi, even if they were accidents, have we become so immuned to the losses that we do not value human life anymore. A few die here n there, is a piece of cake for us to digest now? The TTP guys are the same, for them human life is way below the amount of funding they probably get to do such heinous crimes, while at the same time, for our politicians it was a mere mistake??? In other words, Nato's incursion was acceptable??? I dont even feel sorry for us as a nation now, for we deserve to be governed by such brainless politicians.
