By-Elections 2013: Acting CEC calls meeting

The CEC has called a meeting of the election commission today (Sunday).

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday will decide  deployment of army inside and outside the polling stations for the August 22nd by-election and take stock of the situation in constituencies which were affected by torrential rains and flood. The newly appointed Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Tassadduq Hussain Jillani has called a meeting of election commission today (Sunday) to review internal arrangements of the electoral body for the by-polls. Elections in 42 constituencies will be held for 16 National Assembly and 26 provincial assembly constituencies. Most of these seats were vacated by members who had won from more than one constituency during May 11 general elections.
