Justice Ijazul Ahsan of the Lahore High Court on Thursday allowed a petitioner to file an amended petition challenging the appointment of Acting Advocate General Mustafa Ramday and adjourned the hearing till next week.
Justice Ahsan had told the petitioner he could not challenge the appointment through a writ petition but he could file a quo warranto petition in this regard. The petitioner asked for more time. The court granted his request.
Earlier, petitioner Noshab A Khan said Ramday had been appointed additional advocate general and was later given the charge of acting AG. He said the chief secretary had indirectly filled the vacant post with a man yet to attain the required age (45) to be eligible for the post.
