KARACHI: Ali Khan smashed a last-ball six to give KRL a Super Over win over ZTBL at the Ramazan T20 Cup at the National Stadium.

The game was taken to the one-over eliminator after KRL finished at 131, equalling ZTBL’s total in the stipulated overs.

In the decisive over ZTBL made 15 before KRL achieved the target with a six off the final ball. Ali was the star, hitting 10 off the final two deliveries to seal the thrilling result in KRL’s favour.

Earlier, discarded all-rounder Abdul Razzaq showed he has still much to offer with a well-made 46 from 42 deliveries, laced with four boundaries and a couple of sixes. Aided with the experienced all-rounder’s knock, ZTBL managed to reach 131 for six in 20 overs after the early dismissal of captain Imran Nazir for 14. Babar Azam, who made an unbeaten 31 off 25, also contributed to the total. Nauman Ali, who finished with four for 20, was the pick of the KRL bowlers.

KRL, batting first, made 131 for the loss of four wickets with Zain Abbas and Shoaib Ahmed chipping in with 36 and 31 runs respectively.

Babar ended as the best bowler for the ZTBL side, giving away just 20 runs from four overs and picking up two wickets.

The hard-fought victory strengthened KRL’s chance of qualifying for the last-four as they stand second with four points followed by SNGPL.
