Consultation: Traders, police agree on Ramazan security plan

In a meeting between police officials and trade unions, the CCPO told traders to install CCTV cameras.

LAHORE: Ramazan security preparations for city markets were finalised on Wednesday.

In a meeting between police officials and trade unions, the CCPO told traders to install CCTV cameras. He also requested them to cooperate with the police parties patrolling market places during Ramazan. It was decided that the traders would appoint representatives from each market for liaison with the police. Operations DIG Muhammad Tahir Rai said officials would visit busy markets daily. He said divisional SPs would inspect the arrangements. A Shah Alam market trader mentioned several robberies at markets during iftar last year. Rai assured him patrolling would be increased patrolling in problematic areas.
