Law and order: Two jailed for drug peddling

An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday sentenced a woman to five years in prison and another to seven years for drug peddling.


Sadia Bibi, a former local councillor, was awarded a five-year sentence possession of 4kg hashish. A Rs25,000 fine was also imposed on her. Non-payment of the fine would result in six more months in jail.

The judge also awarded seven years imprisonment to Kamran, a man caught carrying 5kg hashish, five pistols and 24 bullets.

A Rs35,000 fine was imposed on him.
