NAUDERO:

On the 60th birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto on Friday, President Asif Zardari donated blood to commemorate the sacrifices of the deceased leader.

The blood donation was a gesture to pay tribute to the sacrifices of Benazir Bhutto - the second chairperson of Pakistan Peoples Party, the twice-elected prime minister of Pakistan and the Muslim world’s first woman prime minister.

The president’s daughter Aseefa Bhutto Zardari also donated blood at the Naudero House here.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Senior Provincial Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani, and MNA Muhammad Ayaz Soomro were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, the president accompanied by Aseefa Bhutto Zardari visited the graveyard of Garhi Khuda Baksh. They offered Fateha for the departed soul of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.

President Zardari in his message said that the call of Benazir Bhutto to stand up against extremism and to banish poverty and ignorance is a roadmap to make Pakistan a modern state.
