“Is it not the responsibility of the provincial government that after the 18th Amendment to the Constitution it should bring Frontier Constabulary under its supervision?” Rabbani said.
“Security forces should work under the guidance of provincial government,” he said speaking at a joint press conference along with Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik. Appreciating Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar’s concerns on the law and order issue, Rabani said the interior minister should be more precise in his actions.
“We really welcome the recent statements of interior minister but he has to take some positive and specific measures,” Senator Rabbani said, adding that the PPP will support all the positive steps of the PML-N government. He said PPP will never leave their Baloch brethren in the lurch.
He reminded that it was the PPP government that introduced the 18th Amendment which made an insertion in the Article 172 of the Constitution giving 50% share to the province of its natural resources.
Earlier the federation used to get 100% share. Rabbani said that the shift of power from one section of the people to another has occurred after a long period of 400 years in this part of the land and this was the result of political and democratic process. Rabbani condemned the June 15 blasts in Quetta and said they shared the sorrows of the aggrieved families equally.
Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch thanked Senator Raza Rabbani and praised his support for the government of Balochistan. Later, PPP leader Sadiq Umrani, Mir Maqbool Lehri and others met Rabbani in the CM House Quetta, and discussed the recent terrorist attacks in Quetta.

@Jawaid: yes if Najam Sethi can be head of PCB then you should be given an opportunity to head FC so that the org becomes mis managed like police. If the FC does not listens to Provisional govt matter must be reported to federal govt. you know in our culture local govt/MPAs want police under them so that they harass rivals. tom FC will have political recruitment and trouble will start like Sindh police who are known of harbouring criminals as policemen. do not make FC like that.
@Jawaid: As army is gift of corrupt politicians?,,,why army feel to jump into islamabad...and on their arrival politicians from oposition congrats/welcome them with garlands and sweets and general public used to dance and bhangras upon their arrival...isn't it?
these corrupt politicians have no right to control army...lets take examples of what being controled by politicians...PIA,,railway..FBR..Steel Mill...OGDCL..even Haj and what not and what...after all these crystal clear examples u want them to control army???...Allah ka wasta hay yar...u r going to give control of army to those people who opened water during floods to their opponents and poor people to save their own looted property?....

@Jawaid: Please put police, BRP, levies and IB under your recommended competent civil officers & make them worthy of their duty so that there is no need for calling FC in aid of civil power.
@Farrukh: Terrorism is a gift of army dictators, not politicians. IG FC should be fired and a professional civilian (not an army/retired army officer) should head FC if it is to be an effective force.
When are these politicians going to realize that people cannot be fooled for too long...what did PPP govt do for the past 5 years for peace in Baluchistan ? when practically there was no opposition to create hurdles..

What Mr. Rabani has supposed to bring in Balochistan when his own PPP Govt did nothing in the last five years rather miseries and height of corrupt practices? Why the issue of Balochistan was not listened carefully when chests were beaten for Balochistan Package - a carrot where stick was with establishment. Secondly, FC can never be under the provincial Govt because of vested interests of establishment. We should learn that this is the police and military state and 18th, 19th, 20th blah blah...means nothing to the then only ...
@AJ Khan, You can't be serious here? FC has never been under control of provincial government, I know you are trying to portray a patriotic image of Balochistan with Pakistan but i am sure you are aware of the role of security forces and the sentiments of Baloch regarding the matter. We would really appreciate if you lobby for truth instead :) *ET please publish :) *
FC is already working under the Balochistan Government. Insincere eloquence of Rabbani in the matter is to create a wedge between Federal & Provincial Government. CM should taking briefing from Home Secretary or IG FC instead on relying on the wiliness of Raza Rabbani.
