The MOFA statement also welcomed the start of peace talks between the US and the Afghan Taliban.
Earlier on Tuesday, the United States also welcomed the Taliban’s decision to open an office in Qatar and senior US officials said they hoped to meet with their Afghan foes within days.
“I think the United States will have its first meeting with the Taliban for several years in a couple of days in Doha,” a senior US official told reporters, dubbing the move the “beginning of a very difficult road.”

Hello. That office is for Afghan Taliban. What you are referring to are Pakistan Taliban. A separate organization with different command and objectives.
This reminds the world that Pakistan was the only neighbor of Afghanistan who had recognized Taliban govt. The history is repeating itself. However, all those who are dreaming of Taliban ruling once again have a rude awakening. The US is not running away let alone defeated. They would not let go the sacrifices of their soldiers. The boots may not be there but the drones and air force with thousands of military advisors would be there.
For the commentors above: please do not confuse Afghan Taliban with Pakistani Taliban. But No, you will keep confusing that - for the sake of IK bashing!

The surrender protocal has not yet been signed! The Americans are ready to pay direct what they paid previously via Karzai. Unless the Talibans get what they want, they are not going to let the USA leave with their lethal equipment!

Pakistan govt. can't say no to US foreign policy. As it is already known Zbigniew Brzezinski want to use Afghan Taliban against Pakistan that is why Qatar, a Anglo Saxon proxy state hosting the talk between the two. I hope this explains to people who think America is our best friend and other side who thinks it is due to PTI/JI efforts.

I just looked at the building in the accompanying photograph - what a wonderful monument signifying the victory of a handful of barbarians over the Islamic Nuclear Power.
Thats a very nice building for a bunch of thugs, who have blood of hundreds of thousands innocent people on their hands. Where are US drones now?
So USA lost the war? Economic gain in USA = Economic, Life & Structural loss in Afghanistan and Pakistan
The truce between US and Taliban will be until all the US forces will return back to US. Thereafter, it will be al-together a different story.
