manhandling women: Five policemen suspended

FAISALABAD: Five Elite Force personnel accused of entering several houses on Tuesday in pursuit of rioters and manhandling the women, were suspended from service on Wednesday. Hundreds of people protested against long-hours of loadshedding in the district on Wednesday. They had vandalised the Faisalabad Electricity Supply Company office on Sheikhupura Road. They were tear-gassed and baton charged to break the mob. Some policemen had then entered some houses to capture the rioters and misbehaved with women. The suspension orders were issued by City Police Officer Riffat Mukhtar Raja.
