Shah secured 23,827 votes, while his opponent, Muttahida Deeni Mahaz’s Aurangzeb Farooqui secured 23,625 votes. The turnout was 45.32 per cent.
Polling could not be held in six polling stations on the day of the general elections 2013 due to a bomb blast. On election candidates’ request the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had decided to hold re-polling at the respective polling stations of the constituency.
Re-polling in the constituency was supervised by the army and police and ranger personnel were also deployed.
There are total 72 polling stations the constituency
Polling started at 8am and continued till 5pm without break though there was a dismal turnout for the re-polling.
The officials of election commission claimed to have recorded good turnout in the polls, but ground realities seemed otherwise. “Around 50 to 55 per cent turn out has been witnessed in the election, which were held in peaceful manner,” provincial election commission SM Tariq Qadri said.
But according to one of the presiding officers, the turnout was low. “Out of 9547 votes registered in the six polling stations only 3000 votes have been polled to both the candidates. This shows record low turnout.”
“It looked curfew like situation in Rizia Market, Dawood Chali, Tauheedabad area in the constituency where police, Rangers and paramilitary forces did not allow people to gather in groups and sit in the streets,” Hameeduallah Khan, resident of the area said.
A 13-member team of the ECP is performing its duties at all the stations.
The real competition in PS-128 is between Muttahida Qaumi Movement candidate Syed Waqar Hussain Shah and Muttahida Deeni Mahaz’s Aurangzeb Farooqui.

Uza syed has probably forgotten the haqparast episode.
So under military's control today in those 6 polling stations, MQM candidate got 350 votes and the opponent guy got 2688. But still the opponent lost because all the other previous stations results were based on may11 voting (which was total chaos as all of you know). Go figure!
@Mazhar: "Karachi has rejected religious extremism and sectarian division." . PTI is a religious party. This instance is difficult for the party to abandon. Both Old and New Sindhis do not claim to be Warrior Folk. It would be an anomaly to expect many votes in the southern regions of the country, with such a party profile.
I am confuse if PS-128 election could not be held in 6 polling station why its related there is no election in connected NA seat.

PTI and its "boycott"! Isn't it something? What a joke, a silly one at that, a party that is not able to keep its most senior members from feuding among themselves wishes to be accepted as a serious party of any political consequence. They should concentrate on shutting the mouths of their insiders, who are, bent upon bringing the ugly side of PTI out. I can hardly pretend that I'm not glad to see their own folks dragging the bundles of PTI dirty linen out in public for all those stains to be washed. Wow, party has just begun and sure promises great fun as this is going to be party to celebrate the beginning if their end.
Dear Baffled..you are really baffled as PTI is still saying to hold elections all over Karachi again including our winning seats of PS and NA..our demand from day one is to hold elections again all over Karachi..hypocrites are those who want reelection in NA 250 but not in whole Karachi..
PTI boycotted .They demanded that polling should be carried out in all the polling stations and not in 6 only .How ironic ! MQM was demanding the same for NA250 . PTI and its ally JI were adamant
