"People who supported us during the elections are being targeted," Rizvi said.

MQM is a unique party whenever it is in danger or in problem, it rises guns to his voters and put the pistol on the foreheads of Karachi citizens.

MQM is a peaceful political party. Unfortunately, for a lot of educated, yet unenlightened, people of Pakistan, MQM won the elections. The people who were killed today are common citizens. Who is standing with them at this hour of doom? Please tell me who cares about these people. How many people who claimed to have their 'mandates' in Karachi stand with the dead today? I am sorry to break this reality to all those who thought Karachi has been hijacked by MQM. When these poor people are pushed to the corner, they do look towards MQM for help, and there is no one who can deny that.

If it were not for MQM, Karachiites belonging to the lower socioeconomic groups would have been bulldozed by the 'patriotic mindset' of those clinging to power in Islamabad and other provinces of Pakistan. Unfortunately, this is what they did with the people of Bangladesh and in Balochistan.

MQM itself is being cornered from all sides. The intelligence agencies are torturing their office bearers, the notorious Lyari banned Peace committee has teamed with the newly elected government and is making us revisit the deadly genocide against the urdu speaking population of Karachi committed in August 2011 during Ramazan.
