Unbearable conditions: Students request early vacations
According to weather experts, the country is witnessing a record spell of heat after a period of 20 years.
ISLAMABAD:
Students and parents demanded the Federal Directorate of Education to announce summer vacations for education institutions from June 1 due to the extreme heatwave in the federal capital. Students are finding it difficult to study for examinations as prolonged power outages have reduced their stamina and disrupted sleeping hours. “The classrooms lack generators and UPS facilities and loadshedding during school time poses a serious health risk to my children,” said Shagufta, a parent. According to weather experts, the prevailing weather conditions in May are unprecedented, as the country is witnessing a record spell of heat after a period of 20 years.
