The terror continues: Five killed in separate acts of violence

Political worker and hawker among five people killed in the city.

A political worker and a hawker were among five people killed in different acts of violence in then city on Wednesday.


The body of a Muttahida Qaumi Movement worker, Shakeel Ahmed, son of Jamil Ahmed, was found from the house of his neighbour, Salamu, in Chishti Nagar, Orangi Town. Police officials said that the body had been severed into pieces and placed in a box. The brother of the accused was detained by the police while the accused is yet to be arrested.

A hawker, Abbas Haider, 23, was shot dead in Liaquat Chowk allegedly over sectarian issues, according to the police. Seperately, a young Christian man, Ashraful Madaris, was shot dead in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Niaz Faizullah, 25, was shot dead while he was on his way to the city courts to attend the hearing of a family dispute case. Meanwhile, the body of a young man was found within the limits of Napier police station. The body of was moved to Edhi morgue, Sohrab Goth for identification.
