Aids Patient: 22-year-old inmate at Central Jail dies

Jail officials had sent blood samples of the remaining patients to Civil Hospital.

GUJRANWALA: A 22-year-old inmate at the Gujranwala Central Jail died on Wednesday.

He had tested AIDS positive on Tuesday. Dr Shehbaz, medical officer at the jail, said that Shehzad had not been well for two months. He said his condition had worsened on Wednesday and was taken to Civil Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later. As many as 40 inmates at the jail had tested positive for HIV/AIDS on Tuesday. Jail officials had sent blood samples of the remaining patients to Civil Hospital. The results are yet to be received.
