Division wrap-up: Six million to cast vote in Faisalabad division

There are more than six million voters in the 19 National Assembly and 39 Provincial Assembly constituencies in the Faisalabad division.


The division comprises Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot districts.

Divisional Election Commissioner Abid Husain said that 5,461 polling stations with 14,555 polling booths had been set up. He said 3.45 million voters were males and 2.64 million females.

Husain said that 2,861 presiding officers have been deputed in Faisalabad district, 493 in Chiniot, 1,003 in Jhang and 1,004 in Toba Tek Singh.

Faisalabad

There are 2,861 polling stations with 7,505 polling booths. There are 3.25 million voters (1.84 million men and 1.41 million women). There are 10 National Assembly and 21 Provincial Assembly constituencies.

Elections have been postponed in NA-83 and PP-51 after a candidate, Muhammad Amjad Rabbani, died from a heart attack and brain haemorrhage.

Chiniot

Chiniot has two National Assembly and four Provincial Assembly constituencies. There are 593 polling stations with 1,615 polling booths. There are 656,934 voters (369,520 men and 287,414 women).

Jhang

As many as 1,003 polling stations with 2,638 polling booths have been setup in Jhang district. There are 1.09 million voters (621,773 men and 469,003 women). There are four 4 National Assembly and seven Provincial Assembly constituencies.

Toba Tek Singh

There are 1.08 million voters (616,866 men and 472,669 women) and 1,004 polling stations with 2,797 polling booths set up for the three National Assembly and seven Provincial Assembly constituencies.

Out of 19 national assembly seats of Faisalabad Division, PML(N) will win 14 seats, the rest will be won by PPP and PML(Q). PTI has no seat in Faisalabad. (sorry)
