Building collapse: Elderly man dies at Empress Market

The apartment was built atop the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation clock tower market.

KARACHI: A man died when a portion of a dilapidated apartment fell on him at Empress Market on Tuesday.

DSP Zameer Abbasi said that the victim was identified as 60-year old Muhammad Hanif.

According to Abbasi, the apartment was built atop the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation clock tower market, adding that it was an illegal structure and not a part of the original architecture of the building.
