NA condemns Indian brutalities on Kashmiris

NA asks the government to extend support to Kashmiris and urges UN to ensure implementation of its resolutions.

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Monday adopted a unanimous resolution condemning state-sponsored violence in Indian Kashmir, asking the government to extend support to Kashmiris and urging the United Nations to ensure implementation of its resolutions on the issue.

The resolution was moved by chairman of the special parliamentary committee on Kashmir, Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Later, a debate was initiated on Indian human rights violations in Kashmir on an adjournment motion, suspending the rules.

Condemning the brutal use of force by Indian authorities, the resolution expresses dismay over the situation in Indian Kashmir. It also called upon India to withdraw its troops from the state, repeal black laws and lift the curfew.

The house made it clear that according to the UN resolutions, Kashmir “is an unresolved issue and not an internal issue of India”.

Urging the international community not to play the role of a silent spectator, the resolution said: “(The international community) should force India to end the brutalities in Kashmir and help resolve the issue.”

The National Assembly also asked the UN to take practical steps to ensure implementation of its resolutions.

Referring to the two wars fought by India and Pakistan over the Kashmir issue, ANP lawmaker Pervez Advocate said his party was not part of the resolution because it was not aware of its contents.

“We agree with the part regarding human rights violations as we always advocated human rights. But, this violation also continues elsewhere,” he said mentioning the rights of the people in Fata and Balochistan.

PML-N’s member Mahmood Bashir Virk criticised the ANP lawmaker and said it appeared from his remarks about the resolution on Kashmir that this was not Pakistan’s National Assembly but parliament of an enemy country. Criticising the role of international community, Justice (retd) Fakhrun Nisa Khokhar urged the government to forge an unyielding policy on Kashmir and if this fails to resolve the issue, Pakistan should move the International Court of Justice against Indian violence in Kashmir. Later, the House was adjourned to meet again on Tuesday.

The other fact for your consumption is that the conversion of LOC as border is no proposition of India. What we want from Pakistan is to vacate the entire J&K territory under its illegal occupation to which it call as 'Azad Kashmir including Balawaristan' in terms of accession documents. Sir, you talk of bettle and we resolve it to regain by peaceful means and mind it, that to without any outside assistance. Aap To Wohi Baat Kar Rahe Hain, Ki Khilona De Do, Nahin To Main Aapne Chacha Ko Bula Lunga.... Ha Ha Ha.

Ahmer Ali | 14 years ago | Reply Assalam-o-Allaikum Warahmatullah.Brutalities and innocent killings in Jammu Kashmir have the the most favorite hobby of Indian forces and now only passing the condemnation resolution is not the solution of Kashmir issue.Now time has come to talk to India in clear words either India wants to leave Jammu Kahmir through peace talks or wants battle over Kashmir issue.Now there have been a lot of time and money wasting photo sessions over Kashmir in New Delhi and Islamabad frequently and only one statement is given on the end of talks from the both leaders,id est,both leaders emphasized on continuing the peace talks.In India's standpoint the only resolution of Kashmir issue,id est,convert Line of Control into the border and our leaders ain't seeing sincere and honest to resolve this the most core and burning issue and the only way to maintain peace and security in South East Asia is to resolve Kashmir issue.Passing the condemnation resolutions against Indian brutalities in Jammu Kashmir has been the old-fashioned games for our leaders.Please stop these types of time money and time wasting activities and clearly define your standpoint in clear words to Indian government and if our leaders don't have courage to free Jammu Kashmir then assist Taliban to resolve this the most burning and core disputed issue.I am sure they shall say "we are labbaik" and I the world has seen that US and allied forces have failed to defeat them in Afghanistan despite having the most modern and advanced air power and weapons then how can Indain forces can defeat them.
