President of APML Chitral, Shahzada Khalid Pervez told APP on Wednesday that nomination papers for the former President for NA-32 Chitral constituency would be filed with the Returning Officer on March 28.
Musharraf is all set to file nomination papers in three other constituencies including Karachi (NA-250), Islamabad (NA-48) and Kasur (NA-139).
He said the party has decided to field the former President from this mountainous constituency where the party had a strong vote bank.
He was optimistic that the APML Chief would easily sail through the constituency in the upcoming general elections on May 11.
He said Musharraf has chosen this constituency in Khyber Pakthunkhwa as the people of Chitral wanted to "pay glowing tribute" to the former dictator for inaugurating construction work on the sole gigantic Lowari Tunnel Project in 2006.

Musharraf can't contest election because of his crime 1). toppling an elected government 2). declaring emergency in Pakistan on which SC has given verdict as violation of constitution. So how can a law breaker con contest to be a law maker.. He is not eligible to contest election . Matter ends.

@Khan! My dear, indeed it is mentality....which is not unique case of deny. You're right majority of those who are politically privileged don't care about Pakistan, in fact enjoy a selfish life... It doesn't matter whether group or parts of US & UK are not completely developed, BUT rule or law, political rights are as equal for whole country.....No one dare to say, WHO CARES for NORTHERN Pakistan......
Every Begging bowl for Foreign Aid goes through North & South (Balochistan) of Pakistan...while height of selfishness never show flexibility in thoughts rather live with denial as genetic syndrome.
People of Chitral have always liked president Musharaf and have supported his brave decisions against terrorism and extremism. Chitral's peaceful minded people love peace tolerance and moderation , which is vision of Musharaf sahib as well. What ever they call him in rest of country , in Chitral , he is Mujahid e Islam, and Guardian of this country. More than 90 percent in Chitral will vote for him and will show that the people of north despite being poor and backward support development and oppose extremism. Love Musharaf our MNA

@Blithe: And I'm shocked at people supporting so called leaders like NS & Zardari who are not different than any dictator in their so called democratic parties. Two large party system has worked everywhere but they have different leaders every time unlike our country where we have dictators ruling us either in uniform or without.
@Voice of North: Maher doesn't speak for all Pakistanis so lets not call it Pakistani psyche. Majority of us do not care for the country and fail to pay full taxes which makes the government treasury an empty bowl .. thus in return we do not get any projects either .. On another note even a well developed country like US or UK etc are not developed in every corner .. Its a common trend even in developed countries to first put infrastructures and development in major cities and people from all corners of the country live and work there.

@Mohammad: The people of Chitral are going to lose more if they elect a one man party like Musharraf. They can make sure nothing positive will take place in Chitral if they vote in the former dictator.
