Clean bill: Metro Bus contracts transparent says TI

LDA has followed the Punjab Procurement Rules 2009 in all 25 construction contracts, says TI.

LAHORE: Transparency International (TI) has said that the Metro Bus Project was executed in a transparent manner. The Punjab government had requested the TI to review and comment on the process of procurement and award of contracts for the project. They had signed an ‘Integrity pact’ on February 28. The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) was required under the agreement to provide copies of the contract evaluation forms for 27 contracts awarded under the project. Details of infrastructure procurement were also provided. The TI has now said that the LDA had followed the Punjab Procurement Rules 2009 in all 25 construction contracts of Rs29.078 billion and two contracts for Metro bus Supply and Operation, and Security at a cost of Rs1.2018 billion.
