PCB approves new constitution

The long awaited PCB constitution is finally here.

ISLAMABAD: After a year long consultation with the Pakistani government and the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finally promulgated its long delayed constitution through which the next PCB chairman would be elected, Express News reported.

The new law proposes the establishment of a four member committee created by the current chairman, Zaka Ashraf, which would comprise of the Pakistani president and cricket officials from the provinces and the PCB.

The president would have two votes and other members of the committee would have one vote each, according to the constitution’s provisions.

The period of the chairman’s tenure would be four years and he would only be answerable to the country’s president, Express News reported.

The election of the new chairman is expected to take place this year.
