Biotechnology: Monsanto, others form committee

The committee’s work will be governed by policies and procedures of CropLife International and CropLife Pakistan.

CropLife Pakistan has formed a biotech committee in an effort to create more awareness of biotechnology in agriculture in Pakistan.


The committee will be chaired by Monsanto, a US agricultural biotechnology corporation, and its members will be DuPont Pioneer and Syngenta, said CropLife Pakistan senior member Farooq Shahid at a press conference on Thursday. The committee’s work will be governed by policies and procedures of CropLife International and CropLife Pakistan. Biotechnology is considered a tool that will improve food security and reduce poverty.
