Healthcare: Special polio campaign ends

Meanwhile, a measles campaign is being launched from February 9.

KARACHI: The special polio eradication campaign that was being held in Bin Qasim Town after a case surfaced last week has ended.

“It ended smoothly,” said an official of the health department. The official said that the schedule for the regular polio campaign will be announced after consulting the law enforcement agencies.

Karachi witnessed its first polio case in 14 months when a child was detected with polio last week.

Meanwhile, a measles campaign is being launched from today in those Cantonment areas that were not covered earlier.

This campaign will end on February 10 and cover Dehli Colony, Punjab Colony, Jamhoori Colony and Hazara colony along with camps.
