ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Sumsam Buhkari considers Kashmir the jugular vein of Pakistan and said no resolution would be accepted without the participation of Kashmiri leadership.

He was speaking to a private news channel and said Pakistan is incomplete without Kashmir. Sumsam Bukhari further expressed that Pak-India bilateral relations could not give fruitful results without the solution of Kashmir issue. In answer to a question, the minister replied,

“although Pak-India share many values but Kashmir solution has great importance for us and United Nations should play due role in this regard.”

Replying to another question, he said that dictators could not work according to aspirations of people because they were not representatives of the people.

Well, then Pakistan had better find an alternate route of supplying blood to its brain - that is if something still remains, given the unrelenting assault to which it has been subjected to ever since the jihad genie was let loose. The jugular is definitely being squeezed and there is little to indicate that the squeeze will be relaxed in the foreseeable future. These hyperbolic statements serve no purpose other than to inflame passions on both sides. It's better that the governments do what they are supposed to do - make life easy for the common man. Such nonsense can be left for a more leisurely period in time.
